Debbie began her career in real estate working as a senior officer for a large bank. While working at the bank, Debbie financed residential and commercial properties of all sizes. Her experience in finance gave her a deep understanding of the worries that buyers experience when investing their savings and future earnings in the purchase of a home.  Debbie understood the tremendous responsibility that she as a Real Estate agent would have and was passionate about the idea of making a difference in the lives of her future clients. Her invaluable experience working with an established financial institution has taught her how to be the calm in the storm and to always maintain a positive outlook.  In 1995, she made the decision to join her husband Donald Martin. Today, 22 years and a combined 40 + years of experience later, they form a dynamic, skilled and highly regarded team of 2.

Debbie has relied on her reputation from day one, and to this day the majority of her business is generated from referrals and repeat business. She is grateful for her ever growing network of loyal clients, many of which have become loyal friends. As a resident of East Gwillimbury for over 20 years, Debbie feels fortunate to have raised two daughters in the growing community. Whether volunteering, or taking leadership roles in the community, Debbie loves to get involved.  She belongs to a vast array of organizations in the York Region area as past president or member.  She often volunteers her time and provides a wealth of knowledge and support to female business owners.  She is passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of others, and it’s this passion that makes her one of the area’s most respected residents.  In her spare time she enjoys dancing, hiking, walking, yoga, reading, and skiing and loves to spend time at the cottage boating, swimming, and entertaining. Most of all, Debbie enjoys spending quality time with her growing family.

Debbie understands the importance of giving back, she devotes time and money to many charitable organizations; Children’s Miracle Network, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Royal Lepage Shelter Foundation, and a local hockey team.

When not assisting buyers and sellers, Don enjoys spending time with his wife and family. They enjoy hiking and boating in Muskoka during the summer months, and skiing and snowshoeing during our Canadian winters. When not servicing his clients, you can find Don working on carpentry, practicing martial arts, golfing, and living a lifestyle of health and wellness. His many interests have allowed him to connect with his clients on a personal level, building a trusting foundation for a working relationship.

The late 80’s were an extremely challenging time to be a REALTOR® and even more challenging to begin a career in real estate. Don started when the province was in a recession, mortgage interest rates were in the 14 – 20% range, loan qualifications were rigid, and down payment requirements were high.

Success meant thinking outside the box and exploring non-traditional, real estate solutions. Before long Don and Debbie became a team.
