Financially, buying a home comes down to two key commitments: what you can afford as a down payment and what you can afford in mortgage payments after you’ve met your other expenses. It is recommended that you obtain a pre-approval from a mortgage specialist. The pre-approval will entail filling out a simple application and then obtaining a certificate that not only tells you what you can afford but also holds a mortgage interest rate for the time you are looking at a home.
