Meet The Team ROSSKOKA TEAM BACKGROUND Peter and Ross formed their partnership in 2005. Rosskoka Team is based on values of strong client focus, collegiality, trust, mutual support and, sharing fact based opinion. For decades, Peter and Ross worked in professional services and experienced the importance of teaming in meeting and exceeding client requirements. Together they recognize the value of having client focus, understanding client need, providing fact based opinion and, analytical insight. Over the years their business has grown through referral and recommendation of satisfied clients to the point where they sold more Muskoka waterfront properties last year than anyone. Peter and Ross love what they do. Who wouldn't? They live and work in Muskoka! 2010 is the year we recognized the need to expand our team to keep pace with the level of service our client’s deserve. The Rosskoka Team specializes in Muskoka Waterfront Properties. Our team members have strong ties to what was once only “cottage life” and is now more and more a “life choice” of living and working in Muskoka. | Ross McLean | One of Ross’ earliest memories is arriving in Port Carling by steamer at the age of 3. He knew then, that Muskoka was a special place. As a youth, when working at summer camp, he thumbed his way to Muskoka for days off even though his family was cottaging elsewhere. On graduating from university, Ross worked in sales and marketing for more than 30 years and, as with many in that profession he traveled. Throughout his career he lived or worked on all continents except Antarctica. His global perspective rates Muskoka as one of the treasures of the world. For Ross, as for many people, Muskoka is a life constant. | With his knowledge of sales and marketing, Ross joined an international consulting firm. It was during that time that his work passion was first published or developed into training programs: Creating Customer Value, Strategic Selling and, Can Change Be As Good As A Rest? Today, his thinking on client service and satisfaction can be read from time to time in local periodicals. As a former international caliber athlete, Ross is highly focused on what he does. He knows that success comes from preparation and homework and brings this skill and training to his work today. Fact based opinion and insight are invaluable in making good real estate decisions. This understanding has stood him well over the years as he has undertaken 10 major, successful renovations on his own properties. Blessed with a creative and restless mind, Ross has channeled much of his energy into visualizing the possible. He has a talent for conceptualizing and brings that to bear when thinking about property for his clients and himself. Adding and realizing value is key. Since the 70’s Ross and his family have been cottagers here, in Muskoka. In that time they have owned and renovated a number of cottages. Today, they are now working on their primary residence on Lake Muskoka. Over the years friends and colleagues have sought advice and opinion about ‘what could be’ on their homes and cottages. Providing reliable answers and insight has led Ross to homework that ultimately turned into a real estate Broker’s License. Today Ross’ passion for client service and value finds outlet and satisfaction in helping people make informed decisions about cottage real estate. His clients say that he has helped them make good decisions, negotiated well on their behalf and, added value in understanding the possibilities and limitations of their properties. | | Peter Steele | If it’s possible to be in two places at once, then Peter is one of those lucky people who experienced this phenomenon. Born in Toronto and raised in Muskoka, Peter grew up in the 1890’s Footes’ Bay cottage bought by his grandfather in 1925. The property has always been ‘home’ and remains so today. A professional engineer by training and degree, Peter achieved a world-wide reputation as a water treatment expert. Through a 30 year career as a professional consultant, he worked globally and today, plants operate in places as diverse as Auckland New Zealand, Edmonton Alberta and Parry Sound he has built. All the while, Peter’s heart remained at home, in Muskoka. During one 5 year stint in New York City, Peter was home, every weekend, in Muskoka. | Even so, Peter established himself as a leader in his field with a client satisfaction rating second to none. It’s been said that if you want something done, ask a busy man to do it. Never one to rest at home, Peter continued to build while not at work. All around Muskoka there are docks, boathouses and cottages that he has designed or built for family and friends over the last 40 years, including his own. In fact, he’s known by a number of builders today as their unofficial supervisor. Aware and interested in the changing face of this beautiful place, he often inspects construction projects and is sought after for his advice and perspective on engineering and construction issues. Regardless of season, Peter is on the lakes. His knowledge of these waters is based on a lifetime of boating and sledding throughout Muskoka. One would almost think that Peter’s hand-held GPS was self-programmed! Logic is one of those immutable engineering traits. So it was logical that combining deep knowledge of Muskoka, superior client relationships and world-wide construction expertise would lead to an award winning real estate career. Today, his clients recognize Peter’s skills add value to their real estate decisions. His quiet sense of confidence comes from years of rigourous analysis, practical solutions and a lifetime of experience, here in Muskoka. | | Lucy Mclean | Lucy has cottaged in Muskoka since the late 70s and is now thrilled to call it home.
